SIX MORE TIPS ON HOW TO INCREASE YOUR FUNDS FOR A RAINY DAY…

I have written a couple of posts this month on making some extra cash, ‘How I Made an extra £65.17 Last Month With My Own Money’ and ‘Make Some Extra Cash with The ‘Get Blogged’ Affiliate Program’.

Today I am going to cover a few other ideas on how you can start to build a little fund for a rainy day.

  1. Make yourself more money-aware by going through your supermarket bills often and see what you can save and put the difference in your ‘rainy day’ fund. You would be surprised at what you can save. If you can see what you normally pay but what you could pay by going to another supermarket then buy from the cheaper one and put the difference away.
  2. Use tools available to round up the total purchase which is the other way around from the way I earned from my own money. Apps such as Moneybox will round up your purchases so say you spent £28 on a purchase this then becomes £30 but the £2 goes into your savings.
  3. Check the Money Saving Experts website weekly. His motto has always been that if you can get something by paying less, then do so. He has ideas all the time so sign up for his email.
  4. Now you are starting to go back to the office carry on making your lunch like you did when you worked from home rather than buying it and put that money into your savings.
  5. Look at some of the online budget planners if you do not have the time to sort your own out. One like Money Helper and Banktivity.
  6. You could also make a little bit of extra money by becoming a rep for companies like Avon (starter kits from £10), Mystery Shopper, Ebay etc – there are lots of ways to make that extra £50 a month.
