WORLD SLEEP DAY – 19th March – World Sleep Day is an annual event, intended to be a celebration of sleep and a call to action on important issues related to sleep, including medicine, education, social aspects and driving. It is organized by the World Sleep Day Committee of the World Sleep Society and aims to lessen the burden of sleep problems on society through better prevention and management of sleep disorders. World Sleep Day is held the Friday before Spring Vernal Equinox of each year. Future dates will be Friday, March 17, 2023.

Well over 200 activities were organized by volunteers worldwide for World Sleep Day 2021, to help raise awareness for sleep health by organizing World Sleep Day activity. A very interesting article on where smoking pot is legal or tolerated in Europe by NeueZeit / Natalie Bühl .

The legalization of marijuana has been a topic of discussion in many countries for years. However, the implementation is slow. Even consumption for medical purposes is permitted in barely half of all European countries. Smoking pot recreationally is not legal anywhere yet. But that could be about to change.

Where in Europe is smoking pot legal or soon to be legal?

Netherlands:Cannabis is legal in strictly regulated coffee shops. Only tolerated outside of them.

Croatia:Has a draft law for the legalization of marijuana for recreational consumption.

Germany:Legalization for recreational smoking of pot is part of the government program. It has not yet been implemented.

These European countries allow cannabis use for medical purposes:Austria, Belgium (sativex only), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia (not in operation)…
